Diff Daff is a small powerful application that enables user to compare files, folders code and web pages. DiffDaff has one of the simplest interfaces I have ever seen. There’s no tangled setting – all required options and actions are present on the main window.
To compare two files you should just choose required one’s by clicking ”Browse” button at the right side of main window. The same operation you should repeat for folder comparison. If you wont to compare web pages you have to either choose saved pages by clicking on “Browse” button or type we addresses of required pages in lines 1 and 2 (secure protocol” https” is allowed). There are options available:General:• Show line numbers – enables line numeration in the result report to make easier view comparison results and exam differences;• Case sensitive – enables/disables differences between capital and small letter in the comparison;• Indent – If unchecked, DiffDaff will ignore leading blanks;• Keep empty lines – If unchecked, DiffDaff will delete empty lines before comparison.HTML options:• Line break after each tag –enables to compare XTML or XML files on tag by tag basis. It useful if you want to find out differences in HTML or XML tags.• Delete All HTML tags – deletes all tags before comparison. This option can be used for analyzing content of HTML or XML files.Output options:• HTA – result of comparison will be stored as a HTA (Hypertext Application), this file type is like a HTML file but is shown in a full screen window and all JavaScript functions are not blocked. This feature may not work on some older systems like Windows 2000 and earlier.• HTML – The results are stored as a HTML file and will be opened in your default browser.Result report will be automatically generated and opened in selected format. As for me HTML file is more convenient as can be easily re-saved to any available format or opened in your favorite text editor and also the results can be printed without any problems.Summary:DiffDaff is very interesting, convenient and useful program, so if you just need a simple tool for comparison without tons of unused settings I recommend you to try it. The program is absolutely free so there’s no payment required for testing or using DiffDaff.
